Location and History

This Novotel is situated right behind Botafogo Beach, a quiet curving bay filled with sailboats, all set at the foot of Rio's famed Sugarloaf Mountain. The hotel is not exactly beachfront since three large city streets, side by side, run between the beach and Botafogo's first row of city towers.

This relatively petite building rises just seven stories, rendering it easily dwarfed by the considerably taller buildings next door....
