When and How Will International Destinations Reopen?

Jun 09, 2020

As domestic travel starts to open up, travelers might be thinking — is it possible to travel internationally?

Even if clients want to board a plane and take a trip abroad, most countries still have their borders closed to nonessential travel while others are only allowing for regional travel.

Nonetheless, countries will decide how they will emerge from COVID-19 lockdowns, and travel advisors would be wise to position themselves as experts on the resumption of international flights and protocols regarding border reopenings. (Consider telling clients that you are keeping up with this information, and that you can help them keep track of everchanging news.)

This library of international reopening links contains the policies of countries ready to welcome U.S. travelers, as well as those with gradual controlled approaches.
