Northstar Travel Group (the parent company of TravelAge West) announced today that it will launch a new digital media outlet in early 2023. Hotel Investment Today will serve as the media presence of The BHN Group, Northstar’s hotel and hospitality segment.

The brand-new platform will build on Northstar’s existing information services and content production for the travel industry. Serving the hotel-investment community, Hotel Investment Today will cover breaking news, analyze key deals, profile dealmakers and developers, identify trends and provide market intelligence, in both written and video form. Newsletter distribution of the content will start at three times per week.

“The hotel-investment community has looked to our organization for more than 20 years to provide content, make business connections and move the industry forward through ALIS [America’s Lodging Investment Summit, also owned by Northstar] and all of our other global events,” said Jeff Higley, president of The BHN Group. “We are eager to expand that role and provide the hotel-investment community with an outlet completely dedicated to reporting news and information that will help drive decisions pertaining to ROI and other essential KPIs.”

Leading the platform are two veteran industry journalists: Jeff Weinstein, as editor in chief, and Mary Scoviak, as managing editor. Weinstein spent the last 29 years as editor in chief of Hotels, where he also created Hotels’ Investment Outlook. Scoviak’s three decades of B2B publishing experience include time as the editor in chief of Hotels, executive editor of Hotels’ Investment Outlook and editorial and conference programming director for Boutique Design.

“Joining forces with two strong, respected journalists with impeccable integrity is a home run for The BHN Group and its entire events roster as they will provide the backbone of a reader-centric media outlet that will report on the most important issues to hotel investors around the globe,” Higley said.
