What
Canyon Ranch has opened its first retreat model, Canyon Ranch Woodside. Set on 16 acres of redwood forest in Woodside, Calif., the 38-room property offers a wide range of transformative experiences for guests.

Why It Matters
Considered a milestone for the evolving brand, Canyon Ranch Woodside is its first property in California and only the third overall. The opening is yet another nod to the growth of integrated wellness within the hospitality industry, and it underscores how consumers are increasingly seeking tailored and mindful travel.

Fast Facts
- Canyon Ranch Woodside was formerly Stillheart Institute, but the space was reimagined by Cole Martinez Curtis & Associates.
- The property encompasses 14 rooms in the main lodge building and 24 rooms in standalone luxury treehouses.
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner is included for guests; dining options range from The Hearth with communal seating to The Hideaway, Canyon Ranch’s first-ever bar and ranch that features items like biodynamic wines and superfood elixirs.
- Guests can choose from two Signature Retreat programs, as well as a series of Guest Speaker Retreats led by a curated selection of expert guests; “Recharge” focuses on applying self-care and building resilience, while “Connect” explores reconnecting with place, person and self.
- Canyon Ranch Woodside’s spa consists of five treatment rooms, an indoor saline pool and whirlpool and a fitness studio called The Training Zone.
- Available activities include daily fitness classes, nature walks, meditation sessions, wellness talks, creative expression courses, guided mountain biking, hiking, coaching sessions and more.

What They Are Saying
“The opening of our first property in California is a significant milestone in the ongoing evolution of our storied brand,” said John Goff, chairman of Canyon Ranch. “This new concept distills our approach to integrative wellness into curated, goal-focused experiences with tools to empower our guests. Travelers today seek shorter, more frequent, and highly experiential trips and launching Canyon Ranch Wellness Retreats offers guests familiar with our brand — as well as those new to Canyon Ranch — an intentional, collective reset that embodies our philosophy.”
