What
For the first time, Ensemble Travel Group has signed a membership deal with the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA). The agreement requires that Ensemble U.S. shareholder members must also join ASTA.
Why It Matters
This move by Ensemble is an investment in ASTA’s efforts to support the travel advisor community and overall tourism industry. Ensemble’s decision will add more than 242 new ASTA members as a result, further strengthening the organization.
Fast Facts
- The new membership deal mandates that Ensemble shareholder members also join ASTA.
- It also qualifies Ensemble for the 2019/2020 Consortia seat on the ASTA Board of Directors; consortia with 75% membership in ASTA are eligible for the seat on a two-year rotating basis.
What They Are Saying
“This is a major landmark for ASTA and Ensemble,” said Zane Kerby, president and CEO of ASTA. “Our first membership deal signifies the confidence that Ensemble has placed in our industry association. And this vote of confidence will allow us to redouble our efforts to promote and defend the travel advisor community at all levels of government, within the travel industry and before the traveling public. We’re looking forward to welcoming 242 new members to the ASTA family. Thank you to David Harris for his leadership and investment in our association’s work to grow this profession.”
“We are proud of our alignment with ASTA,” said David Harris, CEO of Ensemble Travel Group. “The advocacy role they play on behalf of travel advisors in all areas of business from legislative, educational and member resources will benefit Ensemble members in many ways and will be vital to our continued success.”
“Committing to this word-class organization will not only benefit our membership but provides added investment to support the travel advisor community and the greater tourism industry,” said Gary M. Pollard, CTC, board chairman of Ensemble Travel Group.
