The Family Travel Association (FTA) recently announced the dates and location of its 6th annual summit. The event will be held at Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa Resort near Cancun, Mexico, from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3.
Why It Matters
The FTA summit brings together suppliers, travel advisors and media for education and networking. Family travel consistently ranks as one of the most important markets for agents and the industry in general, and the summit is the best opportunity for learning about the latest trends and products. This year’s location also gives advisors the chance to experience Costa Mujeres, one of Mexico’s hottest destinations.
Fast Facts
- The FTA is offering attendees several different categories of guestrooms for the same price, including ocean-view junior suites; partial ocean-view junior suites; and garden-view junior suites. Rooms will be reserved on a first come, first served basis.
- Room rates at the summit are $183 per person nightly (double adult rate); $238 per person nightly (single adult); and $177 per person nightly (triple adult). Children ages 3-12 are $67 per child per night sharing with an adult and infants ages 0-2 stay free. Kids age 13 and older must pay adult rates. Families who want more space, can pay an additional $45 per night for guaranteed connecting rooms.
- Complimentary amenities at the resort include: 10 all-inclusive restaurants; unlimited drinks, including alcohol; minibar restocked daily; 24-hour room service; non-motorized watersports; nightly entertainment; two waterparks; childcare starting at age 3; and a teen activity program.
- Dreams Playa Mujeres is located about 45 minutes north of the Cancun Airport. Transfers can be arranged when registering for the summit.
