What
Railbookers, a Yankee Leisure Group (YLG) brand, announced a new partnership with Eurostar, Europe’s only high-speed train that directly links the U.K. to France, Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as to other connections throughout the continent. The new endeavor will be called Eurostar Vacations by Railbookers.
Why It Matters
The partnership will allow Railbookers to offer 46 customized itineraries featuring a Eurostar journey, taking advantage of the high-speed rail service to allow U.S. visitors to see more of Europe in a single trip. Company officials say the move should help agents take advantage of growing consumer demand for independent, customizable rail travel to destinations throughout Europe.
Fast Facts
- According to Statista, approximately 30 million Americans traveled to Europe in 2017, with more than 600,000 of those visitors traveling onboard Eurostar.
- Eurostar Vacations by Railbookers is launching a 2019 brochure, which features more than 46 new products offering a variety of ways to discover the best of Europe and beyond. There’s “London and the Cote d’ Azur,” which takes guests across the French countryside to the Mediterranean coastline, and “London, Paris and Bordeaux,” which takes advantage of a new high-speed line to Bordeaux, France’s famed wine-growing region.
- Eurostar Vacations by Railbookers is offering $300 off per couple on any six- to seven-night vacation or $500 off per couple on any eight-plus-night vacation for any new bookings made by Nov. 2, 2018, for travel in 2019.
What They Are Saying
“When Americans think of Eurostar, they think of the Chunnel from London to Paris, but it is so much more than that,” said Frank Marini, president of YLG. “We have seen record growth in the U.S. market for independent, customizable rail travel in Europe and are excited about our new strategic alliance with Eurostar in developing Eurostar Vacations by Railbookers for the U.S. market.”
“We continue to see growth in the U.S. market as visitors choose the ease, comfort and convenience of high-speed rail over planes for travel across Europe,” said Nick Mercer, commercial director for Eurostar. “Our new partnership with Yankee Leisure Group and their Railbookers brand offers a new and easy way for customers to find the perfect trip to suit them.”
“To be able to travel from London to Amsterdam in just 3 hours, 40 minutes, with city-to-city service in the comfort and luxury of Eurostar trains, gives our clients the opportunity to maximize their European vacation experience,” said John Vavrina, vice president of sales for Railbookers U.S. “Aside from being rail experts, we make booking travel to Europe easy for our agents by handling all accommodation, sightseeing and customization options.”
