What:
Amtrak Vacations has announced new packages, booking discounts for agents and the launch of its Rail Experiences Series.

Why It Matters:
A number of Amtrak Vacations’ new rail itineraries expand on the national parks, which are extremely popular with travelers. Amtrak Vacations has also created a new Rail Experiences Series, which features a number of the most iconic Amtrak routes in the U.S. In addition, the operator has released its 2016 Early Booking Discounts, through which clients can save $400 per couple for 2016 Escorted Rail Journeys or $300 per couple for most 2016 Independent Rail Journeys when booking by Dec. 31.

Fast Facts:
- Amtrak Vacations now offers over 40 unique national park rail journeys.

- One example of the new Rail Experiences Series is the Northern Rail Experience where guests enjoy Amtrak’s Empire Builder, Coast Starlight and California Zephyr routes.

- A record 31.2 million passengers traveled on Amtrak in the fiscal year 2012.

What They Are Saying:
“With record consumer demand for rail travel to the U.S. national parks this year, 2015 will be the best year in our company’s history,” said Frank Marini, president of Amtrak Vacations. “We are already seeing the same trend for national park rail travel on the rise for 2016.”
