Disney Cruise Line has released some of the features of the 4,000-passenger Disney Fantasy, set to debut next spring. The sister to the Disney Dream will include popular elements such as AquaDuck, the shipboard water coaster, and Animator’s Palate, which will have a new show called Animation Magic.
New design elements and guest experiences will give the Fantasy an identity all its own. These include Europa, an evening entertainment district for guests ages 18 years and up, made up of European-style bars and lounges and the 1,340-seat Walt Disney Theatre featuring “Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular.” At Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and salon, aspiring young cruisers receive the full fairy tale treatment with pixie-dust princess or pirate makeovers.
Fantasy’s very royal three-deck atrium lobby is dominantly gold, with Art Nouveau peacock feather designs in blue, green and pink and a bronze statue of Mademoiselle Minnie Mouse, dressed as a 1920’s or ’30’s passenger on an oceanliner, complete with a steamer trunk.
Fantasy will sail weeklong alternating Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, and its maiden voyage is scheduled for March 31, 2012. (
