Italo, the first private operator in the Italian high-speed rail network, is now open for bookings. With low greenhouse gas emissions, a self-sufficient energy supply and lower overall energy consumption Italo’s state-of-the-art trains focus on sustainability without compromising comfort and efficiency. Not only do Italo trains travel at speeds of up to 186 mph, but they are also among the most luxurious of their kind. Italo trains feature large windows, reclining leather seats, free Wi-Fi access and a multilingual staff.
In order to meet more personalized comfort needs Italo offers three levels of services: Economy, Comfort and Premier. Economy passengers enjoy reclining leather seats, increased legroom, a personal power outlet and onboard vending machines. With an upgrade to the Comfort class, guests will find seats with their own tables, armrests and adjustable footrests. In addition, passengers receive a welcome service with drinks and snacks, a complimentary newspaper in the morning and the option to purchase a meal to be served to their seat.
The 19-seat Premiere class is as luxurious as Italo gets. Seats are equipped with large at-seat touch-screens that play Italo Live and live Sky TV. Travelers enjoy welcome snacks and drinks, the option to purchase served meals and their own personal host throughout the journey.
The Italo network offers service from Venice to Rome (with stops in Padua, Bologna, and Florence), Turin to Salerno (with stops in Milan, Bologna, Florence, Rome and Naples) and nonstop service between Milan and Rome/Naples.
