I’m proud to bring yet another year of TravelAge West to a close. For 45 years, the magazine has brought agents in the West the latest information on the biggest travel stories, as well as fresh, on-site reviews of hot destinations. As you can see from the cover images on this page, this year we reported on a wide variety of topics, including travel to Cuba, wellness travel, the expansion of Crystal Cruises, the growth of the sharing economy, New Orleans 10 years after Hurricane Katrina and much more.
This year, we also refreshed the design of the magazine, welcomed new staff members and increased the frequency of our Family Getaways and Explorer publications.
Finally, with this issue we say goodbye to one of our most beloved staff members. Business Development Director Dave Metkovich is retiring after 30 years on the TravelAge West masthead. Besides being our in-house historian, Dave has been a steady guiding light for the magazine as it has gone through its evolution. He’ll be deeply missed but, fortunately, he’ll be just down the road in Orange County when we need his sage advice.
