What Kauai property do you recommend?

Sep 05, 2002

Elda Woodson, Acacia Travel, Inc., San Diego

The best dollar value is the Hyatt Regency Kauai. If clients want good friendly service, lush grounds that beckon strolling, a fantastic Sunday brunch, a good swimming beach, the aloha spirit and Poipu sun, there’s no other choice.

John Warnas, Ultimate Travel Inc., West Valley City, Utah

There are two properties I would recommend on Kauai. For clients who like the best, the Hyatt Regency Kauai located in Poipu is for them. The property is truly first class, offering all the amenities of a megaresort, but it has not lost the old Hawaiian feeling.

For clients who are budget minded, I would recommend the Islander on the Beach. This property has a great central location, close to shopping and entertainment and offers a great room with a great view.

Judy Wolfe, Sea Gate Travel, Huntington Beach, Calif.

The Radisson Kauai Beach Resort was generous and wise to offer agents special rates to visit their property. Many in our office took advantage of this and we all came back with high marks. The resort’s perfect location near the airport makes arrival and departure convenient. Free shuttles to the airport, shopping and golf course make it possible to stay there without a car.

The resort has a very good fine-dining restaurant and several pools. It is not so spread out as other resorts, and you can spend more time walking along the beach rather than in the hallways.

The reception area is very inviting and the staff is friendly. Complimentary mai tais and a torch-lighting ceremony with a Polynesian dance show are offered nightly.

The Radisson Kauai Beach Resort offers a casual elegance with just the right amount of Hawaiian flavor.

Robyn Burton, American Express, Salt Lake City

I thought that the Marriott was one of the nicest properties on Kauai. It was located close to everything, and the beach area was clean, shaded and beautiful. The hotel had access to sightseeing tours, as well as a health club, beautiful pools, nice restaurants and an array of options to make your stay enjoyable.

Paulette Bodenstedt-Hatfield, International Consultants LTD, Houston

The property on Kauai that I would recommend to my colleagues to sell is by far the best on the island of Kauai The Princeville Resort at Hanalei Bay. There is no undesirable suite on this property. The mountain views are breathtakingly beautiful, and the ocean views offer sleep-inducing sounds of the surf a jewel for travel consultants and megastars seeking R&R.
