This Airline Is Offering a Pass for an Unlimited Number of Flights

Nov 22, 2022

Late last week, low-cost carrier Frontier announced that it is offering air passengers a new incentive to fly. The airline’s new GoWild! All-You-Can-Fly Pass, currently on sale for $799, allows clients to book an unlimited number of flights while the pass is valid (for one year, beginning May 2, 2023).

The passes will be on sale until 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 28, 2022, at which time the price will increase to $1,999.

Byrd Bergeron, owner of The Travel Byrds, said the offer is "low enough that it fits with Frontier's market," but she'd rather see an airline charge more with fewer restrictions.

"With the blackout dates and the rule that you could only book 24 hours in advance for domestic trips, I would say this would only make sense if you had family or a significant other in another city that you flew to often," she said. "It looks like a too-good-to-be-true offer, but when you look at the short timeframe you have to book the trip in advance, it simply makes a planner like me way too nervous."

How to Book Flights With Frontier’s New All-You-Can-Fly Pass

Although the pass advertises an unlimited number of flights, clients should note that applicable flights become available and can only be booked the day before departure (for domestic flights) and starting 10 days in advance for international flights.

To use the pass, travelers must log into their Frontier Miles account (although they should note that these flights are not eligible for miles or status on the airline). Available flights will be shown on Frontier’s website (flyfrontier.com), and the airfare’s base rate will be $0.01, plus any taxes and fees. Ancillary items such as bags, seat assignments and other assorted add-ons must be purchased separately.

Blackout Dates for 2023 and 2024

Although flights are available more than 300 days per year, there are blackout dates. These dates for 2023 include: May 25, 26 and 29; June 29 and 30; July 1-5, 8 and 9; Aug. 31; Sept. 1 and 4; Oct. 5, 6 and 9; Nov. 18, 22 and 24-27; and Dec. 16, 17, 22-24 and 26-31.

For 2024, blackout dates include: Jan. 1 and 15; Feb. 15, 16 and 19; March 3, 10, 15-17, 22-24 and 29-31; and April 5-7 and 12-14 (dates beyond April 2024 are not yet available).

What Else You Should Know About the GoWild! Pass

- The GoWild! Pass cannot be transferred, and only the passholder, who must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old, will be eligible for its privileges.

- Once booked, the pass will automatically renew for the next year (at a rate of $1,999/year) unless the user cancels.

- Codeshare travel is not available with the GoWild! Pass.

- In addition to the $0.01 fare, current government and airport taxes, fees and charges will apply and start at about $14.60 per person, per flight (for domestic travel) and may be in excess of $100 per person, per flight for international travel.

- GoWild! Passes are best used for one-way tickets; returning flights must be searched for and booked a day before departure (for domestic) or 10 days in advance (for international).

- Flights and seats are subject to availability.

- No-show passengers who booked flights with a GoWild! Pass are subject to Frontier’s Contract of Carriage; repeated no-show passengers may incur financial penalties and have their pass revoked.

- More information on the GoWild! Pass can be found in the program’s terms and conditions.
