United Airlines and Spotify have announced a new collaboration that introduces Spotify content to United’s inflight entertainment system. The partnership brings more than 450 hours of audio and video programming to passengers on over 680 United aircraft.

Spotify’s playlists, podcasts and audiobooks are now available on more than 130,000 seatback screens. According to United, this is the first time Spotify’s video podcasts and audiobooks have been offered onboard an airline. Available titles include Good Hang with Amy Poehler, The Dave Chang Show and The Comment Section with Drew Afualo.

"Spotify has a huge audience and people love their content. And now our customers can enjoy it all in a simple and easy way, at 35,000 feet," said Richard Nunn, CEO of MileagePlus, United Airline's loyalty program. "Together, we're giving millions of customers an entirely new way to experience and explore premium content from the world's most popular artists, authors and podcasters — all while flying with the latest technology in the sky."

Spotify’s offerings appear under a new inflight entertainment category labeled “Spotify,” which replaces the previous “Audio” category. United plans to add a featured Spotify channel across most of its fleet in the coming months.

In 2026, United will expand the offering to allow passengers to log into their personal Spotify account via the seatback screen, enabling access to personalized content during flights.

"As a frequent United flyer myself, it's incredibly exciting to see Spotify now available on the world's largest airline," said Ian Geller, vice president of business development for Spotify. "At Spotify, we're dedicated to being everywhere our users are, giving creators opportunities to reach new platforms and engage different audiences. I'm especially looking forward to bringing an even more personalized app streaming experience to seatbacks next year."

For aircraft equipped with Starlink internet, passengers can also stream Spotify on personal devices. To do so, they must log in to their MileagePlus account, accept the Starlink terms and access the Spotify app.

In conjunction with the launch, MileagePlus members who are new to Spotify can earn up to 1,000 bonus miles by signing up. The offer will be promoted through United’s media channels, including inflight screens, the United app and airport clubs.
