Avalon Waterways has introduced a new river vessel in Europe,
the Avalon Tapestry, featuring innovative architectural and design
elements to enhance travelers’ cruising experience. The Tapestry’s
engines are located in the stern, providing a quieter cruise
experience than traditional ships. The wheelhouse is also located
behind the passenger section, allowing for a more spacious interior
design. The lounge and restaurant, located at the front of the
vessel, offer unimpeded views of the passing landscape, while the
Sky Deck larger than other European river cruise vessels provides
more room to take in the scenery, relax and enjoy the journey.
“With the introduction of the Avalon Tapestry to European
waters, we’re continuing to lead the river cruising surge,
providing the world’s most modern ships specially built for the
North American market,” said Patrick Clark, managing director for
Avalon Waterways.
Each stateroom aboard the vessel features spacious closets,
individual climate control, satellite TV, a hair dryer and other
contemporary bathroom facilities. The ship boasts non-smoking
interiors, an exercise room, fitness center and hair salon. And, as
with all Avalon Waterways ships, the Avalon Tapestry provides a
full team of English-speaking staff members.
“The Tapestry is just one of several new ships we’re introducing
in the next two years,” said Clark. “We’re also adding itineraries
and small ships in exotic locations, such as the Galapagos Islands
and Egypt, and increasing our offerings in China. We’ve seen the
demand for river cruising grow 50 percent in one year a trend we’re
certain will continue.”
The Avalon Tapestry 2006 cruise vacations include “The Rhine
& Moselle” and “Romantic Rhine” itineraries. Avalon Waterways
is part of the Globus family of companies.
