Carnival Cruise Line has announced that it will pay travel agents commission on Future Cruise Credits applied to new bookings.
The new commission program adds incremental earning opportunities for the line’s agent partners, calculating the rate based on the value of the cruise prior to the application of the Future Cruise Credit. Previously, the line calculated commission on these bookings after a Future Cruise Credit was applied. According to Carnival’s management team, agents have told the line that the former method was a point of frustration for them.
“Our team is always listening and looking for ways to offer the best sales and service support we can to travel agents, and this commission enhancement is a reflection of that goal,” said Adolfo Perez, vice president of sales and trade marketing for Carnival. “We value the hard work travel agents put into booking their clients, which is why we’ve increased the commission for these types of bookings.”
Carnival has also launched a convenient new pay-over-time program that allows guests to pay for their cruise in three monthly installments, without paying interest on the sum to Carnival. Agents can sign up for Carnival EasyPay to process payment on behalf of clients, who make the initial cruise deposit. After, the three payments are automatically deducted monthly from the credit card on file and applied to the current balance. The guests’ deposit due date must be at least 90 days before the final payment date.
