Construction began July 15 on the much anticipated new ship for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the 750-passenger Seven Seas Explorer, at the Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa, Italy. Scheduled to debut in summer 2016, the ship’s books will open in early 2015. This is the first newbuild in Regent’s three-ship fleet since Voyager was launched in 2003.
Regent has announced that the ship will have the highest space ratios and staff-to-guest ratios in the industry and will contain an extraordinary owner’s suite.
