Deutschland will offer three ocean adventures around southern
Africa in January-February 2006. The 15- and 16-night excursions
will visit four South African port cities, as well as Namibia,
Kenya, Zanzibar and other islands in the Indian Ocean.
The first cruise, departing Jan. 4, 2006, sails from Port Louis
on the former British island of Mauritius to Le Port on the French
island of Reunion and to Fort Dauphin on Madagascar, all fabled
islands known for their breathtaking beaches. The cruise continues
on to four South African cities including Durban, the country’s
third largest city, and Port Elizabeth, where passengers can take
an excursion to visit elephants and antelopes at Addo National
Park. The 15-night cruise ends with two nights in Cape Town.
The second cruise is a 15-night round-trip voyage from Cape Town
departing Jan. 17, 2006. It calls first in Walvis Bay, Namibia,
where optional excursions include a flight over the Spitzkoppe
Namibia’s “Matterhorn”, and an overnight safari in Ethosha National
Park. Ports in South Africa will include East London, Durban and
Port Elizabeth. An optional full-day excursion from Cape Town will
visit the Cape of Good Hope.
The third cruise is a 16-night journey that departs January 30,
2006 from Cape Town to Mombasa, Kenya, with calls in Port
Elizabeth, Durban and Richard’s Bay, South Africa; Nosy Be,
Madagascar; Dzaoudzi on the French island of Mayotte and the famed
island of Zanzibar.
