Disney Cruise Line recently released details on the upper deck features of its newest ship, the Disney Dream, which is just one year away from her maiden voyage. One of the most spectacular features of the new ship will be the first shipboard water coaster — AquaDuck — that shoots around the top decks of the ship.

Disney Cruise Line is catering to sport enthusiasts with a number of the new features. On Deck 13, for example, the ship will feature a miniature golf course called Goofy’s Golf where lessons feature Goofy and his son, Max. Both characters will lead guests through nine themed holes while family-friendly competitions and tournaments with quirky golf clubs, some crooked, will challenge golfers to stay on course. In addition, two onboard digital sports simulators will provide virtual soccer, tennis, basketball, golf and more. Max’s Courts are two mini-sized sports courts for smaller cruisers to enjoy soccer, basketball or group play. There will also be a full-size basketball court onboard that can be transformed into a mini soccer pitch or volleyball court, plus table tennis and foosball tables. A walking track also rings the sports deck.
On Deck 11, the 1,500 square-foot Nemo’s Reef will encompass a water-play area overflowing with pop jets, bubblers and underwater friends such as Nemo, Dory, Marlin and other favorites from “Finding Nemo.” Shaded for protection from the sun and featuring a soft wet-deck surface, the area will be surrounded by a glass enclosure with a main guest entrance and a wheelchair-accessible entrance.
The nearby Donald Pool will have a giant Funnel Vision LED screen that is more than 30 feet wide and 18 feet high. The screen will show Disney films and other live-broadcast events throughout cruises. And, as in the earlier Disney ships, the Mickey Pool is in the shape of the Disney character, with Mickey’s hand supporting a yellow winding slide that splashes down near the pool.
The line is also ensuring that adult passengers have their own space on the upper decks with the Quiet Cove Pool and Cove Bar, a retreat for adults to sunbathe and swim, indulge in a cool drink or enjoy a relaxing dip in a nearby hot tub overlooking the ocean. A series of connected circular pools will include a four-foot-deep plunge pool and a six-inch-deep sunbathing pool with built-in loungers and a mister. Four infinity whirlpool hot tubs — two for families and two for adults only — will also provide spectacular views.
