MSC Cruises is building on the success of the Divina’s first full year in the Caribbean with plans to boost its sales force and grow its fleet.
“We are doubling our sales force in the next two months and building two or four more ships,” said Richard Sasso, president and CEO of MSC Cruises USA.
He added that MSC North America is hiring new staff members in the next 60 days who will strongly support travel agent partners as the line continues to grow. Sasso expressed appreciation for the contribution travel agent sales made to the success of the MSC Divina, the company’s first ship with year-round Caribbean sailings.
MSC recently signed with STX France for the construction of two new 4,500-passenger cruise ships for delivery in 2017 and 2019, with an option for two more. The new ships will have a bigger theatre and an amusement park connected to an outdoor aqua park. Other features include a two-deck inside promenade, accommodations designed for families (MSC has a fleet-wide policy allowing kids 11 and under to sail free) and an extended MSC Yacht Club with a solarium, private lounge and restaurant and duplex suites.
