Seabourn Cruise Line is offering a complimentary two-night
pre-cruise stay at London's Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel and
50 percent savings on Seabourn Pride's 11-day transatlantic voyage
departing on Sept. 18.
The Seabourn-style crossing begins with two nights' accommodation
at the five-star Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, one of London's
finest luxury hotels. Once a distinguished Victorian gentlemen's
club, the impressive building has been resurrected as a fashionable
and thoroughly modern hotel in the heart of the upscale
Knightsbridge shopping district. Guests can enjoy theater, museums,
gardens and galleries and all the history, pageantry and charm that
London has to offer, during the two-night pre-cruise stay.
Sailing from Dover's celebrated white cliffs, guests will enjoy
visits to the ports of St. John's, Newfoundland, the oldest
European town in North America; Halifax, Nova Scotia, whose British
heritage is still evident in the imposing hillside Citadel; as well
as picturesque Bar Harbor, Maine. The voyage ends in the historic
and quaint fishing town of Gloucester, Massachussetts, just a short
coastal drive from Boston. With special 50 percent savings, fares
for this unique cruise start at $3,898 per person, based on double
occupancy, of a 277-square foot ocean-view suite. Suites onboard
the Seabourn Pride feature spacious marble-clad baths, walk-in
closets, a five-foot picture window or balcony, fine Egyptian
cotton linens, fluffy duvets and king-sized down and feather
pillows.
Seabourn earned the highest scores among all cruise lines in the
categories of “Food” and “Service” from readers of Conde Nast
Traveler magazine, according to the magazine’s annual “Gold List.”
In addition to the 2007 Gold List, the Seabourn fleet of three
intimate, all-suite shipswas named the world’s best small-ship line
in 2005 and 2006 by readers of Travel + Leisure, and also won the
highest scores in the Luxury Survey conducted by Departures
magazine.
Guests aboard the 208-passenger Seabourn Pride, Spirit and Legend
can look forward to Seabourn’s Signature Delights: a myriad of
thoughtful touches that includes complimentary champagne, wines and
spirits throughout the cruise, and gourmet cuisine designed by
celebrity chef Charlie Palmer. A two-time James Beard Award winner,
Palmer is the owner of 11 highly-acclaimed restaurants and event
venues in New York, Las Vegas, Sonoma and Washington DC. His
progressive approach to American cuisine is showcased aboard
Seabourn ships in a wide variety of specially-created signature
dishes.
Seabourn’s Signature Delights also include Vintage Seabourn, a
premium wines pre-purchase package; Seabourn to a Tea, a menu of
rare estate teas, unique blends and herbal tisanes served during
afternoon tea service, and Sky Grill, which offers al fresco dining
(weather permitting) at the Sky Bar high atop the ship.
Seabourn will debut two new sister ships in spring 2009 and 2010.
The new vessels will feature 225 luxury suites, ninety percent of
which will offer private verandas. Combined, the two vessels will
more than double Seabourn’s current fleet capacity of 624
berths.
