PerryGolf, one of the first tour operator’s to offer
golf-specific cruises, has announced the expansion of their luxury
golf and lifestyle programs in the upcoming year. Branching out
from cruising solely in the traditional British Isles, PerryGolf
will now offer a variety of tours in southern France, the
Mediterranean, South Africa, the Great Lakes region and the
Canadian Maritime.
On these new cruises, PerryGolf travelers will have the
opportunity to both play golf on renowned luxury courses around the
world and, at the time same, explore new sights and dining in a
range of destinations, small towns and cities alike.
According to Gordon Dalgleish, president of PerryGolf, “It’s a
great way to combine a golf trip and a sightseeing and cultural
experience while enjoying time together.”
On their first ever North American cruises, PerryGolf will be
offering two itineraries with five rounds of golf on each. The
seven-night Grand Lakes tour will sail the 100-passenger Clelia II
through each of the five lakes, stopping for courses along the way.
The 10-night Canada’s Maritime Provinces cruise will begin in St.
John’s and conclude in Rochester, New York.
PerryGolf also offers the “quintessential French experience” on
two small river cruises. The Le Phenicien, an 18-passenger barge,
will cruise the Rhone River and Rhone-Sete canal between Avignon
and Aigues-Mortes. The 20-passenger Le Libellule will sail the
River Saone through the Burgundy wine region between Lyon and
Dijon.
For Mediterranean voyages, the 34-passenger Callisto will tour
Turkey, the Greek Islands, southern Spain and Morocco. The ship is
known for its ambience, created by the vessel’s rich furnishings,
intricate woodwork, antiques and artwork.
In South Africa, PerryGolf’s 13-night tour will begin departures
March 19, 2009. Aboard the 114-passenger, all-suite Corinthian II,
guests will sail through the scenic Indian Ocean and enjoy seven
rounds of golf.
As in past years, PerryGolf’s British Open by the Sea program
returns in 2009 with an 8-night journey in Scotland and rounds of
golf at six famous Scottish courses. Guests will have the
opportunity to play at Kingsbarns, Royal Aberdeen, Royal Dornoch,
Machrihanish, Machrihanish Dunes and Turnberry’s Ailsa Course, the
site of the 138th British Open.
