Princess Cruises has announced its cruise itineraries for the
coming year, presenting a combination of exotic new destinations
and old cruise-tour favorites. In the 2009-2010 season, the global
cruise and tour operator will offer more than 110 sailings on 10
ships to all seven continents. With six new itineraries and 11 new
ports, Princess ships will visit more than 180 destinations,
including sites in Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii,
Tahiti, India, South America, Canada and New England.
For the coming season, Princess has increased capacity and added
a number of new itineraries at a variety of international
destinations. In Asia, Princess will sail two ships and offer three
new 14- to 16-day itineraries aboard Ocean Princess, which will
also journey to India and Africa. Other new itineraries include a
31-day West Africa Adventure and a 13-day holiday sailing on
Diamond Princess in Australia and New Zealand. The 2010 World
Cruise Adventure, a 107-day tour that visits 40 destinations, will
include new ports such as Mexico’s Copper Canyon at Topolobampo,
Vietnam’s “City of Peace” at Halong Bay, and the Sharm el-sheikh in
Egypt.
Princess’ new port destinations include Muscat, the capital of
Oman; Yangon in Myanmar; Qingdao, a Chinese seaside city; Fukuoku
in western Japan; Phillip Island in southern Australia; Newcastle,
Australia; Picton on New Zealand’s South Island; the Caribbean
island of Nevis and more.
“We know our passengers are explorers who revel in the
opportunity to see some of the world’s exotic locales, so we’ve
designed a full slate of itineraries to take them to all seven
continents in the comfort of our wonderful ships,” said Princess
senior vice president, Jan Swartz.
Ranging in size from three 680-passenger ships to the company’s
largest 3,100 amenity-filled vessels, Princess’ 10 ships offer a
full range of size and international touring options.
Ocean Princess, formerly known as Tahitian Princess, will sail
one last Africa, India and Southeast Asia itinerary before being
re-named for embarkation on a series of cruises through Asia,
including the Treasures of Southeast Asia and South China Sea
Explorer tours. The ship’s itineraries will also include an Africa,
India and Southeast Asia voyage from Singapore to Cape Town and a
West African Adventure from Cape Town to London. Sailings depart
between Sept. 17, 2009 and May 7, 2010.
Golden Princess will continue its tradition in Hawaii, tracing
the popular 14-day route between Los Angeles, the Big Island,
Honolulu, Kauai and Maui. Between Sept. 27, 2009 and April 25,
2010, the ship will set sail on 16 Sundays.
In Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Diamond Princess will lead a
series of voyages ranging from 13- to 20-days and visiting choice
destinations, which include Beijing, Bangkok, Phillip Island,
Sydney and Alaska. Departures run between Sept. 12, 2009 and April
30, 2010.
The 710-passenger Royal Princess will sail nine 14-day journeys
through the Amazon, departing from Ft. Lauderdale and concluding in
Manaus, Brazil. Destinations include St. Barthelemy or Nevis, St.
Lucia, Trinidad, Devil’s Island and various ports in the Amazon.
The Amazon River Adventure runs between Dec. 19, 2009 and April 10,
2010.
The Star Princess, which sails in the South Pacific, South
America and Antarctica, will sail two South Pacific crossings,
multiple journeys around Cape Horn in South America and two
Antarctic Adventures. Departures sail from Sept. 30, 2009 to March
30, 2010.
Pacific Princess takes over the popular 10-day Tahiti and
Polynesia cruises this season, sailing roundtrip from Papeete
through Huahina, Rangiroa, Raitaea, Bora Bora and more. The ship
will also sail one Hawaiian Islands Cruises, a Hawaii and Tahiti
sailing and a 26-day South Pacific and Andes Explorer Adventure.
The ship sails between Oct. 9th and Dec. 8, 2009.
Pacific Princess will also sail the 107-day World Cruise, which
journeys from Ft. Lauderdale to Rome and visits locations around
the globe, including Aruba, Costa Rica, Acapulco, Fiji, Cairns,
Hong Kong, Singapore, Mumbai, Safaga, Aqaba and many more. The
World Cruise departs Jan. 27, 2010 and offers segments which range
from 18 to 89 days.
In Australia, both the Sun Princess and the Dawn Princess will
explore New Zealand, Tasmania, New Caledonia, Australia and other
sites. Sun Princess will also sail a roundtrip China and Japan
itinerary departing from Sydney, and Dawn Princess will sail a
Hawaii, Tahiti and South Pacific voyage. Sun Princess and Dawn
Princess will depart from Oct. 17, 2009 to April 3, 2010.
Caribbean Princess and Crown Princess will sail routes through
Canada and New England with itineraries ranging from seven to
15-days. Programs include a 7-day Caribbean Princess Canada and New
England program, a classic 10-day route between New York and Quebec
and a 15-day Canada and Colonial America itinerary. For the 7-day
route, ships sail roundtrip from New York from Aug. 22 to Oct. 17,
2009. For the 10-day classic route, three ships depart between
Sept. 23 and Oct. 13, 2009.
Additional cruise-tour packages are also available, allowing
cruise guests to extend their vacations in Australia, Asia, South
America, Canada and New England. Package destinations include Machu
Picchu, Ayers Rock, the Angkor Wat and more.
As of April 23, 2008, Princess’ exotic cruises will be available
for booking. Escape Fares for 10-day sailings start at $1,395 per
person, based on double occupancy. Past Princess passengers are
eligible for up to $100 in Captain’s Circle Launch Savings on
bookings made by Dec. 31, 2008 (excluding the World Cruise). Past
passengers booking the World Cruise by Dec. 31 are also eligible
for special offers, such as air-inclusive travel or a $300
Captain’s Circle Launch Savings discount, depending on cabin
