Value is Just the Tip of the Iceberg

May 12, 2008

Hurtigruten, formerly Norwegian Coastal Voyage, is offering savings ranging from $1,000 to $3,600 per person on five different Antarctic expeditions in 2008 and 2009, with itineraries ranging from 13 to 22 days. Hurtigruten also provides roundtrip airfare from Miami or New York from $849 to $1,049 with add-ons from dozens of U.S. cities.

The discounts apply to all five of Hurtigruten’s Antarctica programs including the new 17-day North and South Antarctica expedition aboard the 318-passenger Fram. With the discount, fares range from $5,799 to $15,599 per person, double for Jan. 22 and Feb. 3, 2009 departures, a savings of $1,000 to $3,600 per person.

Another new expedition is the 19-day Antarctica and the Falklands/Malvinas itinerary, aboard the 350-passenger Nordnorge. The ship navigates the westernmost outposts of the Falkland Islands and the passage between Booth Island and the Antarctic Peninsula. With savings of $1,100 to $3,100, passengers pay $5,499 to $13,099 for the Nov. 6, 2008 sailing and $300 more for the Feb. 12, 2009 departure.

Savings opportunities also are available aboard the Fram’s 13-day Argentina and Antarctica program, highlighting Buenos Aires and Ushuaia plus five days in Antarctica. Fares on all departures from Nov. 2008 to Feb. 2009, are $3,999 to $12,749, saving $1,100 to $3,500 per passenger.
