Victoria Cruises plans to add an eighth ship to its Yangtze
river fleet in April 2009, with the launch of the new Victoria
Jenna.
“Expanding our fleet with the addition of a vessel the caliber
of the Victoria Jenna is evidence of our commitment to providing
travelers with an unsurpassed vacation experience,” said Benson Wu,
vice president of Victoria Cruises. “As with our entire fleet, the
Victoria Jenna will be built to the highest international standards
and offer impeccable service and exceptional amenities.”
The Victoria Jenna will be the largest ship in the company’s
five-star fleet and have the highest passenger capacity and most
suites of all vessels sailing the Yangtze. The vessel will feature
209 cabins (186 standard accommodations, 19 junior suites, two
deluxe suites and two Shangri-la suites) for a total passenger
capacity of 418.
All cabins will have televisions with HBO and CNN broadcasts,
private bathroom with a shower and bathtub, and a private balcony.
The Victoria Jenna will feature two dining rooms (a single-seating
main dining room and an a la carte restaurant), a fitness room,
lecture room, library/reading room, the Yangtze Club (theatre-style
night club), cocktail lounge, beauty salon, gift shop, spacious
observation deck, business center, Internet access, health clinic,
four elevators and an atrium lobby.
Decorated in the same deluxe style as other Victoria Cruises’
vessels, the Victoria Jenna will feature tastefully-appointed
cabins and elegant atriums with sparkling chandeliers and gleaming
woods. The overall decor throughout the ship will be highlighted by
American and European influences with Asian accents.
The Victoria Jenna will sail Victoria Cruises’ Three Gorges
Highlights program, both upstream and downstream between Chongqing
and Yichang, as well the round-trip Three Gorges Explorer itinerary
sailing Chongqing to Yichang to Chongqing.
Victoria Cruises’ portfolio of ships comes in two categories
premier and classic. Premier ships (the Victoria Jenna, Victoria
Anna, Victoria Katarina, Victoria Empress, Victoria Prince,
Victoria Queen and Victoria Star) are new or newly rebuilt ships
featuring enhanced facilities such as private balconies in every
cabin, more spacious public areas and a higher level of comfort,
sophistication and decor throughout the ships. In the Classic ship
category is the Victoria Rose (rebuilt in 2001). Although smaller
than the other ships in the fleet, the Victoria Rose maintains the
same high quality standards of the company’s other vessels.
Victoria Cruises offers a variety of itineraries varying from
four to nine days including Grand Yangtze Discovery, Three Gorges
Highlights and Three Gorges Explorer.
