Viking River Cruises is introducing four new itineraries and a
simpler pricing strategy as part of its 2003 program.
The Los Angeles-based company, which specializes in European
river cruises, also is extending the season so it begins in late
March and continues through December.
“The niche of river cruising is one of the fastest growing
segments in vacation options for American travelers,” said Jeff
Dash, the line’s president.
New itineraries include Eastern European Odyssey, a 17-night
lower Danube cruise from Vienna to the Black Sea; A Rhine Getaway,
a 5-night cruise from Basel to Amsterdam; Rhine and Moselle
Explorations, a 12-night voyage exploring the Netherlands, France,
Germany and Switzerland; and France’s Finest, a 14-night package on
the Seine and Rhone rivers.
The Best Value Pricing structure packages the cruise, daily
sightseeing, port charges, roundtrip air and airport-ship
transfers. All-Inclusive Cruise-tour pricing is also available,
which includes everything except airfare.
European all-inclusive cruise-tours start at $899 while the
Russian cruise-tours are priced from $1,599.
Overall, Viking River is offering 225 departures on 13
itineraries on 10 ships geared toward North American tastes.
