Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) kicked off its 2024 Europe season on April 19 with the arrival of Norwegian Epic to its seasonal homeport of Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy. From there, the ship embarked on a 10-day voyage of the Greek islands and Italy.
For summer 2024, NCL will have nine ships deployed in Europe, offering 101 distinct itineraries across 140 ports in Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, Greek Isles and Atlantic Coast regions. New homeport options for NCL voyages to Europe include New York City; Le Havre (Paris), France; and Oslo, Norway.
"As we return to Europe for this season, our goal remains consistent — curating unmatched and captivating experiences for guests to immerse in Europe's most iconic and sought-after destinations, while delivering value for them to maximize their journey with us," said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line.
Highlights of NCL's 2024 European program includes Norwegian Star’s new 12- to 14-day open-jaw sailings between New York and Reykjavik, visiting Iceland, Greenland and Canada. As the line's only polar-equipped ship, it can reach ports above the Arctic Circle.
Norwegian Getaway will homeport in Athens (Piraeus), Greece operating 7- to 10-day Greek Isles roundtrips with visits to Istanbul, Turkey and the Greek islands.
Brand new Norwegian Viva will sail 9- to 11-day open-jaw Mediterranean voyages from embarkation ports like Athens, Lisbon, Venice and Rome.
Norwegian Escape, NCL's largest ship in Europe, will homeport in Barcelona, Rome and Venice on a mix of 7- to 11-day open-jaw and roundtrip Western Mediterranean itineraries with minimal sea days.
NCL is touting the value of its European cruises compared to land-based vacations, with cruises providing up to 40% savings on comparable offerings. The line's "Free at Sea" promotion allows guests to add value-extras like specialty dining, beverage packages and more.
“There is still time for guests to book that last-minute trip to Europe with NCL and enjoy the beauty of waking up in a new destination nearly every day,” Herrera said in a statement.
