Norwegian Cruise Line has revealed plans for extensive updates to the Norwegian Encore, set to take place during a two-week dry dock from November 18 to December 2, 2024. The enhancements aim to provide guests with more elevated onboard experiences.

A key addition will be a new Spice H2O, an adults-only complimentary outdoor area. Replacing the laser tag arena, this lounge will feature a design by Studio Dado, combining elements from the Breakaway-Plus Class Spice H2O and the Prima Class Infinity Beach. The area will include multiple hot tubs, eight large day beds flanked by pools and an expansive bar.

Two popular specialty dining venues will also be expanded. Cagney's Steakhouse, winner of the 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and Teppanyaki, the hibachi-style restaurant, will increase their capacity. Plus, Ocean Blue will be converted to Palomar, offering Mediterranean seafood cuisine.

"Our guests' wants and needs are at the forefront of every decision that we make, and enhancing Norwegian Encore with more of the experiences they value showcases our commitment to just that," said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line.

Suite alterations are planned as well. In The Haven by Norwegian, the vessel’s ship-within-a-ship complex, the Premier Owner's Suites with Large Balcony will be expanded from two bedrooms to three. These suites will now include three and a half bathrooms, a renovated living room, master bedroom, outdoor balcony furniture and a new separate dining room.

The renovation will also add 24 new balcony staterooms and two club balcony staterooms by repurposing part of the Observation Lounge.

These changes will complement existing attractions such as the Norwegian Encore Speedway, the Aqua Park with two multi-deck waterslides and the Galaxy Pavilion virtual reality center.
