The first ship in Carnival Cruise Line’s upcoming Ace Class now has a name. The new Carnival Destiny is scheduled to launch in summer 2029 following its initial steel-cutting ceremony at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. Destiny will be one of three planned ships in the series, with a second and third set to follow in 2031 and 2033.
"Carnival Destiny [a repurposed name] builds on a legacy that changed cruising once before, reimagining what guests can experience at sea,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “With this ship, we’re elevating the guest experience again, creating a ship that feels more expansive while helping guests feel more connected and ultimately have more fun.”

Initial Details
Carnival promises Destiny will be “the most outward-facing megaship at sea” thanks to a new way of experiencing the ocean from onboard. It will feature many oceanview balcony cabins, a redesigned lanai deck and more than 4.5 acres of glass, including transparent multistory walls.
"Together, these elements will create ocean views from more places onboard, bringing the ocean into constant view and redefining how guests connect with the sea,” according to the line.
Also new for Carnival, more than 70% of the ship’s venues and attractions will be completely original concepts, spanning dining, bars and lounges yet to be revealed.
Itineraries
When Destiny sets sail, it will visit ports in the Paradise Collection by Carnival — what the line calls the biggest portfolio of exclusive cruise destinations in the Caribbean, the Bahamas and Mexico.
