Following Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny, Disney Cruise Line (DCL) has announced the fourth ship in the Wish class will be called Disney Believe when it launches in late 2027. The name and its theme — “promise and possibilities” — was unveiled by the parent corporation’s new CEO, Josh D’Amaro, during the Walt Disney Company’s annual shareholders meeting.
“Fittingly revealed during an exciting moment of optimism and transformation for the company, the next ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet will be named [to honor] the dreamers and doers who dare to pursue their own happily ever after,” according to the line.
The ship’s premise of “promise and possibilities” will apply to its overall decor, venues and live entertainment. Before Believe, Wish followed a theme of “enchantment” while Treasure and Destiny were based on “adventure” and “heroes and villains,” respectively.
Most details will be revealed at a later date, but Disney has already indicated some of the intellectual properties that can be expected onboard this time around: “Encanto,” “Frozen,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Moana” and “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
In total, the Disney Cruise Line fleet is on track to encompass 13 ships by 2031. After Believe, a fifth Wish-series ship is scheduled for 2029 under an agreement between Disney and Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (the financial backer of Tokyo Disney Resort) for cruise vacations to Japan. That same year, DCL will also debut an all-new class of ships.
