Azamara Cruises and OneSpaWorld Holdings Limited have unveiled a set of upgrades to the onboard Sanctum Spa, marking the latest step in a partnership between the two companies that spans nearly two decades. The changes will be rolled out ship by ship as vessels undergo scheduled dry docks under Azamara's broader refurbishment initiative called Azamara Forward.
Work will begin onboard Azamara Pursuit on Aug. 18, with Azamara Quest following on Nov. 25 and further vessels slated for upgrades in 2027. Each installation is expected to take between two and four weeks, depending on how extensive the renovation is for that ship.
"OneSpaWorld has been a trusted partner to Azamara for almost 20 years, and together, we have continually challenged ourselves to elevate the onboard wellness experience," said Claudio Sammartano, head of onboard revenue at Azamara Cruises. "These enhancements reflect our shared vision of combining innovation personalization and world-class service to create differentiated experiences that resonate with today's luxury travelers. As guest expectations continue to evolve, so will our commitment to investing in experiences that enrich every stage of the journey."
Among the changes is added space for the spa itself, which will gain two treatment rooms and bring the total capacity up across the fleet. One of the new rooms is built for couples wanting to receive treatments side by side, while the second is a standard single treatment room meant to support demand for the spa's individualized services.
A retail area positioned near the spa's entrance will carry skincare and haircare lines including Elemis and Kerastase, along with Jou Chinese herbs tied to the spa's acupuncture offerings and Good Feet products aimed at posture and alignment support.
The spa's service menu will also grow to include Medi-Spa treatments administered by licensed physicians, such as Thermage skin tightening, Restylane dermal fillers, Dysport injections and microneedling. Alongside these will be IV therapy services overseen by medical staff, including the Nad+ Longevity IV, as well as additional vitamin and nutrient infusions.
"The Sanctum has always been about creating a deeply personalized and restorative wellness journey at sea and these enhancements allow us to elevate that vision even further," said Martha Brabham, vice president of design and revitalization at Azamara. "From expanded treatment spaces to thoughtfully curated retail and the introduction of advanced wellness services, every element has been designed to enrich how our guests feel connect and rejuvenate while sailing with Azamara."
