When Silversea Cruises’ new Silver Nova begins sailing in summer 2023, the vessel will include an impressive 364 suites across 13 categories.

Taking a different design approach, accommodations will emphasize updated orientations following a unique structural strategy. The superstructure will be brought farther inside the ship to accommodate enlarged floor-to-ceiling windows replacing exterior walls in certain suites.

With her asymmetrical configuration and horizontal layout, Silver Nova will offer guests a new generation of spacious suites that are unseen in Silversea’s fleet.

“Marking a new era in ultra-luxury cruise travel, the Silver Nova suite experience represents an evolution of Silversea’s industry-leading offering,” said Barbara Muckermann, chief commercial officer of Silversea Cruises. “With her asymmetrical configuration and horizontal layout, Silver Nova will offer guests a new generation of spacious suites that are unseen in Silversea’s fleet. Not only will Silver Nova surpass our guests’ expectations in terms of comfort, but she will be one of the most environmentally conscious cruise ships ever built, paving the way for the future of ultra-luxury, sustainable cruising.”

Suites will range in size from 357 to 1,324 square feet and feature redesigned walk-in closets with jewelry compartments and bathrooms encompassing an oversized mirror, an expansive vanity with twin faucets, a walk-in shower and a bathtub or a whirlpool. For the first time on a Silversea ship, suites will extend the entire length of the vessel.

Among seven new suite categories are the Signature Suite and the Otium Suite.

At 700 square feet, the Signature variety will highlight open vistas, and feature one of the ship’s largest balconies at 172 square feet. It will showcase separate dining, living and sleeping spaces, as well as a comfortable bathroom. Other amenities will include luxurious mattresses, two large flat-screen televisions, a sound system with Bluetooth and an espresso machine.

The largest option will be the Otium Suite, at 1,324 square feet with a 431 square-foot balcony. Named after the line’s new wellness program, it will come outfitted with a preferred aft corner location and 270-degree views. The suite will sport a balcony with a private whirlpool.

Heading up the suite redesign is award-winning architect Giacomo Mortola and his firm GEM. Fine Italian craftsmanship and design touches will extend to diffused lighting and integrated reading lights in headboards, in addition to a softer, neutral color palette “with deeper but subtle accents inspired by the sea and earth,” according to the line.

“Our longstanding relationship with Silversea Cruises enabled us to perfectly blend heritage with design innovation in Silver Nova,” Mortola said. “It was important to maintain Silversea’s elegant, Italian DNA, with whispered luxury and a consistent brand vision. But with Silver Nova, we had the opportunity to create something that is truly pioneering in the industry. The crowning accomplishment is the Otium suite, complete with a Jacuzzi on the balcony and 270-degree views, which is among the most luxurious suites at sea.”
