Commencing on March 23, Airberlin will start operating nonstop flights from Chicago O’Hare to Berlin utilizing Airbus A330-200. Airberlin is the first airline to provide a direct connection between Chicago and Berlin.
The carrier will begin the route with three flights a week, increasing service to five weekly flights starting on May 1. Airberlin partners with American Airlines as an Oneworld Alliance partner. Chicago O’Hare is American’s second-largest hub, so the option for connecting flights throughout Europe and the U.S. will be considerable.
