Whether they’re celebrating a special occasion or relishing time together, couples visiting Oahu have a wealth of romantic hotel packages from which to choose.

Castle Resorts and Hotels, for instance, just changed its romance program from a package to an add-on.

"We wanted to provide more value, rather than a package where the price is fixed," explained Castle’s senior director of marketing Donna Wheeler.

At its Waikiki Shore property, clients can book the program — called Kiss Me Everywhere — along with any rate plan or category. It comes with a rental car and a gift basket with romantic amenities. The cost of the add-on is $88 per night.

The Embassy Suites-Waikiki Beach Walk has a $229 per night Suite Romance Getaway combining in-suite Hawaiian lomilomi massage for two; a lesson in lomilomi techniques; a pineapple sweet-and-sour sugar scrub and Hawaii-made massage oil for the couple to take home; and a complimentary order of dessert at a nearby restaurant.

Calling itself "the ultimate in do-not-disturb getaways," the Hilton Hawaiian Village features a romance package providing early check-in and pre-registration; in-room sparkling wine or cider; access to the hotel’s health club, pool and whirlpool spa; breakfast for two either in the room or a hotel restaurant; late check-out upon request; and, for stays longer than one night, a buy-one-entree, get-one-free deal. Rates start at $269 per night.

When couples book the three-night Romance Special package at Miramar at Waikiki, they stay in an ocean view room, have use of a mid-size rental car with free daily parking, enjoy a buffet breakfast and, upon arrival, get a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates. Through Oct. 31, the cost for this indulgence is $650.
