Tee For Two

Jun 01, 2006

Teeing off on Kauai just became even more appealing thanks to special packages at two of the island’s most prestigious golf clubs.

On the north shore, the 45-hole Princeville Golf Courses have announced a variety of values for 2006, including a golf and spa combination plan.

“Golf is truly the heart of the Princeville experience,” explains Shaylyn K. Kimura, golf sales manager. “With 45 holes designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., beauty surrounds you where ever you look. These courses are a ‘must play’ when you’re on the island.”

Princeville’s versatile “Tease For Two” package is designed for two people who want different things. With the package, one can enjoy a round of golf while the other luxuriate with a massage at the Princeville Health Club & Spa in the Prince Golf Course clubhouse.

The flexible plan can also be used by a single person wanting to enjoy both golf and a massage. Services do not have to take place on the same day.

The package includes one 18-hole round with shared cart, same-day use of practice facility, souvenir logo ball, 50-minute massage at the spa and a day pass for spa facility use.

“Golfers looking to maximize their golf experience while on Kauai find that our packages offer great value and the challenge they seek,” Kimura says. “With two of the best courses in Hawaii here at Princeville, our packages deliver a unique experience for those who can’t get enough golf while on vacation.”

Through Dec. 31, the “Tease for Two” is $199 for the Makai Course or $249 for the Prince Course.

Also through Dec. 31, the Princeville Golf Courses feature two Multi-Day Golf Packages providing a substantial savings on green fees for golfers desiring multiple rounds.

The first is a combination plan allowing play on the Prince or both the Prince and Makai courses. It covers three rounds in five days for $395, five rounds in seven days for $625 and seven rounds in 10 days for $855. Plan fees for playing on the Makai Course only are $340, $550 and $750 respectively.

Playing Poipu
Home to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, Kauai’s Poipu Bay Golf Course on the island’s south shore promotes a selection of special 2006 values as well.

Poipu Bay’s “Grand Slam Package” offers three rounds of golf for a discounted price on the condition that all three rounds are completed within 10 days of purchase date.

Through Dec. 19, the plan covers shared cart, use of the GPS (global positioning system) and driving range and three rounds of play for $360. Additional discounts are provided to guests staying at the adjacent Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa.

The course also extends two “Prepaid Golf Packages,” providing discounts to those who pre-purchase five or ten rounds of golf.

The five-round plan is $550, representing a savings of $375 over the standard per-round green fee of $185. The ten-round package is $1,000, for a savings of $850.
