Choice Hotels International’s recent all-associate meeting honored a select number of individuals who were named among the company’s best for their various contributions to Choice Hotels International. Among those honored were Mark Pearce, vice president of International Operations and Christopher Arnett, one of the company’s brand performance consultants.
Mark Pearce was given the highest honor, the Choice Hotel’s CEO’s Best of the Best award, for his strong leadership and management practices. Pearce was nominated by numerous colleagues from across the globe.
“Pearce empowers his team to each achieve their personal best and recognizes and celebrates the diversity and contributions from our partner offices and franchises around the world, while showing tremendous respect for other cultures and business practices,” said one of Pearce’s colleagues.
Stephen P. Joyce, president and CEO of Choice Hotels International, noted that Pearce had a great attitude, work ethic and dedication to excellence while on the job, as well as the ability to recognize different points of view.
The other honoree, Christopher Arnett, was given the prestigious Choice Hotels Humanitarian Award for his continued commitment to corporate social responsibility, particularly for his efforts within the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community at Choice.
During the past 12 months, Arnett created the company’s first-ever employee resource group for GLBT associates, putting together a committee with associates from all branches of the organization. His committee, Choice Pride, raises awareness and promotes understanding of the GLBT community among the general population of associates at Choice Hotels.
“Employee resource groups contribute significantly to a company’s diversity efforts,” said Maria D’Ambrosio, senior director of Inclusion and Diversity for Choice Hotels. “Chris’ plan to create our GLBT resource group and the work of the group itself has truly added value at Choice.”
