Four Seasons Pumps Up Poolside Pampering

May 03, 2006

The Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea has pulled out all the pampering stops. The prop-erty’s new poolside “Tapas” Spa Treatment Menu adds splash to an already plush guest experience. Typical treats include complimentary use of shade cabanas and casabellas, chaise lounge set-ups, Evian spritzes, chilled oshi bori face towels, fruit kabobs and wireless modem access.

Like the popular namesake of individual food snacks served with wine, the “Tapas” Menu fea-tures smaller sized versions of full spa treatments. The 20-, 30- and 40-minute head, neck, shoulder, scalp and foot massages can be enjoyed separately or combined.

Priced respectively at $65, $85 and $100 per increment, these plush poolside indulges are available daily from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The ultimate convenience, services are rendered poolside so loungers can remain in their relaxing hot spot. Guests sign up for a “Tapas” treatment with a pool attendant, so the request can be spontaneous and without commitment of advance booking needed in The Spa.

Menu items include the Heavenly Foot Treat, Pacific Mango Massage, Passage to Paia and Kukui Coconut Scalp Soothe.

“Wailea is the sunniest and driest part of the island of Maui, but there is no charge for shade around our pool,” commented Mark Simon, director of marketing at Four Seasons Resort Maui.

“Although other Maui resorts may charge more than $75 per day to rent their cabanas, our shade cabanas and casabellas are provided free of charge. This small touch is the cornerstone of the overall poolside, pampered experience at the property.”

A typical day at the central Fountain Pool may begin with a greeting from the pool server as he sets up a chaise lounge in a private cabana. Or guests may join the pool action with complimentary water aerobics and introductory scuba classes.

The nearby waterfall pool is frequented by “smaller” guests appreciating the foot-deep shallow section, mini-waterslide and array of water toys provided by the resort. Parents can request playpens where infants and toddlers may nap without older siblings missing any of the pool fun. Privacy canopies, highchair deliveries and keiki (child) menus ensure guests never have to leave their poolside location.

Also, there’s no need to leave the pool deck to check an e-mail or surf the internet. The outdoor location is a “hot spot” providing wireless modem access for lap-top users.

Hawaii’s only AAA Five Diamond and Mobil Five-Star resort, Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is situated on 15 oceanfront acres of the island’s sunny southern coastline. The property is home to one of the nations’ top-rated spas and three of Hawaii’s most acclaimed restaurants Ferraro’s Bar e Ristorante, Spago Maui and Pa-cific Grill.
