Island Condo Deals

Oct 11, 2008

Guests at Mauna Lani Point condos can take advantage of the Gas On Us promotion. // (c) Classic Resorts
Guests at Mauna Lani Point condos can take advantage of the Gas On Us promotion.

What’s the next best thing to owning your own vacation getaway on Hawaii’s Big Island? For many clients, the answer lies in booking a condominium, which provides home-away-from-home amenities and pays commissions to travel agents.

This fall, several companies on the Big Island are listing value-added deals that make a condo booking more attractive than usual. For instance, Outrigger’s Condominium Collection is currently pitching a Stay Three, Get the Fourth Free promotion, good until Dec. 21. For budget-savvy travelers, the new package makes extending a vacation in paradise affordable. Starting rates for the properties are $169 per night at Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff, where studio and one- and two-bedroom units come with a kitchen and washer/dryer and clients have access to an on-site concierge. Rates start at $205 at Outrigger Kanaloa at Kona, which features kitchens, washers and dryers as well as free wireless Internet access. At the private, gated community of Outrigger Fairway Villas, two-bedroom units from $329 boast full kitchens with dishwasher, built-in microwave, double-door refrigerator and granite and marble counter tops.

Classic Resorts, which manages Mauna Lani Point and the Islands at Mauna Lani, is luring clients to the Big Island with a Gas on Us offer, valid through Dec. 19. Clients can use a $200 gas credit during their vacation or when they return home. Guests of the Islands receive the additional bonus of a free grocery arrival package. And, through Dec. 19, Classic is giving the fourth night free with a three-night stay at regular rates, which start at $375 per night at the Point and $585 at the Islands. The Point’s elegant one- and two-bedroom villas range from 1,400-1,900 square feet with views of the ocean and championship golf course, while the Islands consists of luxury townhomes offering 2,100 square feet of indoor/outdoor living. As an extra perk, guests of each property get an entry card to the gated Beach Club, where a sandy beach cove calls to swimmers and snorkelers.

Castle Resorts and Hotels is offering what it calls the Wonderfall Savings special, valid at its Big Island condos until Dec. 21. Clients can take advantage of reduced rates at Kona Bali Kai, where a one-bedroom oceanfront unit goes for $139 per night (52 percent off the rack rate). At Kona Reef, a one-bedroom, garden-view unit is listed at $129, while a three-bedroom oceanview townhome at Halii Kai at Waikoloa costs $418.
