The Red Carnation Hotel Collection has announced the company’s acquisition of the five-star luxury hotel Ashford Castle in the west of Ireland. The property has a long and rich heritage dating back to the 13th century. It was a Guinness family home from 1855 until 1939, when Ashford Castle made the transformation into being a hotel. The castle is presently a member of Leading Hotels of the World. It attracts visitors from around the globe, and former visitors to Ashford include Oscar Wilde, John Lennon, President Reagan, Pierce Brosnan and Brad Pitt.
The Red Carnation Hotel Collection is an award-winning collection of five- and four-star family-run boutique hotels in London, Dorset and Guernsey in Great Britain; Switzerland; Ireland; and other destinations.

The castle includes 83 bedrooms, a dining room, a bar, a drawing room, private dining rooms and a spa. Along with the gardens and grounds, there is a nine-hole golf course on the estate. Activities available on the estate include falconry, boat trips, horseback riding and fishing.
