In March 2010, the hotel installed a new [email protected] virtual lounge in its Reef’s Edge Bar. A new signature feature of Sheraton properties worldwide, the [email protected] helps guests connect with friends and family, print boarding passes, check e-mail and research local attractions during their stay. The lounge offers complimentary Wi-Fi access and Internet-enabled computers from Microsoft. It also offers Microsoft-branded webcams that allow guests to e-mail video postcards back home.
And while guests could potentially address any of their pressing work needs at the [email protected], the new space was designed to foster social interaction among guests and make their stays even more memorable.
“Our guests are intent on making the most of their travels and we’re confident this new partnership with Microsoft will enable Sheraton Maui Resort and Spa to provide them with the products, services and tools to keep them connected to what matters most while they are visiting our beautiful islands,” said Sheraton Maui general manager Chip Bahouth. “The Link reflects Sheraton’s commitment to deliver popular, unique and unexpected offerings to our guests and is an exciting pillar of Sheraton’s comprehensive effort to further differentiate our iconic brand.”
During a recent stay at the property, I experienced the new [email protected] firsthand and found it to be extremely convenient and useful, especially when trying to answer hundreds of work e-mails and not wanting to stay cooped up in my hotel guestroom while doing so.
Open since 1963, the Sheraton Maui — one of the first hotels to open in Kaanapali — continues to deliver a high quality of service, amenities and accommodations. Service was always prompt and courteous. Amenities, such as [email protected], on-property dining at Teppan-Yaki Dan and the 24-hour fitness center, were some of my favorite features. And the guestrooms were both spacious and comforting. I loved waking up each morning and drawing the curtains open onto my own private lanai, just to watch the sun rise.
At sunset, clients should make sure to grab a seat at the newly renamed Mai Tai Bar (formerly the Sundowner Bar) and watch the awe-inspiring cliff dive ceremony from Black Rock, a longstanding tradition at the resort since its inception. This summer, the resort will also bring back its popular outdoor movie nights, a favorite activity for families.
This year, the Sheraton Maui is featuring a number of value-laden packages, including its most popular, Sunsational Savings. The package, available through Dec. 30, includes daily breakfast for two, every third night free and a double-upgrade built into the room rate. Rates for spring start as low as an average of $260 per night, based on a three-night stay. For more package information, agents are encouraged to visit Sheraton-Maui.com/Specials.
