In a tranquil hilltop setting at the south side of Morelia, Villa
Montana is set to open Mexico’s newest full-service spa. Villa
Montana Spa, a separate resort facility with the rejuvenating
European-style thalassotherapy, will also offer the pre-Hispanic
Kinich method and product line. It will provide such services as
massage, relaxation treatments and manicure.
Villa Montana is located 10 minutes from Morelia’s downtown
historic center and 35 minutes from the city’s international
airport. Spread over four secluded acres in the Santa Maria Hills,
the property opens to a panoramic view of Morelia and its baroque
cathedral below.
Cottage-style rooms and suites intermingle amid gardens and
multilevel pathways to form an exclusive “mini-village.” Every
façade, terrace, patio and garden has an intricate blend of
artistic sculptures, pottery, masonry and ceramics.
A major remodeling has enhanced the dining and meeting areas.
The reception area and lobby are spacious with a concierge desk and
chairs for personalized check-in. Fine pieces of art and antiques

Villa Montana features 36 units, including 12 standard rooms, 14
junior suites, nine master suites (one- and two-bedroom) and the
regal presidential suite. Each is a distinct showplace of interior
design, blending Mexican colonial antiques and colorful handicrafts
for which Michoacan is known. Each unit has at least one fireplace,
a work of art in itself and no two are alike.
Rooms have direct-dial telephone, satellite television, AM-FM
clock radio and safety deposit box. Spacious painted-tile bathrooms
feature shower-tub combination, hair-dryer and extension telephone.
Amenities include nightly turndown service, fine toiletries, terry
robes and slippers.
In addition to its new spa, Villa Montana’s facilities and
services include dining, gift shop, business center, gymnasium with
cardio equipment, heated swimming pool and tennis court.
Beyond the property, guests have the opportunity to explore the
historic area. Morelia, capital of Michoacan State, is a
four-century-old jewel known as the Aristocrat of Colonial Cities
and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Site. Located in
the highlands of central Mexico, Morelia is midway between Mexico
City (224 miles) and Guadalajara (198 miles) via superhighway.
The state of Michoacan is rich in agriculture and wondrous
nature, ranging from mountain forests to tropical Pacific
