Sunrise stand-up paddle yoga, anyone? How about moonlight meditation? These are just a few examples of programs now being offered as part of The Kahala Hotel & Resort’s new health and wellness series.
Called The Kahala Life, the initiative is aimed at promoting greater overall well-being for participants. Each month, clients can join sessions focusing on such topics as fitness, nutrition and life balance.
The series kicked off in October 2015 with a stand-up paddle yoga experience.
On Nov. 22, the program continues with a class centering on “mudras” (hand yoga), mantras (chants) and “mandalas” (cosmic diagrams). The cost is $75 per person including lunch.
On Dec. 10, clients can participate in moonlight meditation ($5). The program continues in 2016.
Huy Vo, spokesperson and public relations manager for The Kahala Hotel, says that increasing numbers of travelers are looking for health and wellness offerings beyond the standard on-property fitness center.
“The Kahala Life’s variety of services gives travel agents more amenities to pitch to their health-conscious clients,” Vo said.
The program is ideal for leisure, business and group travelers looking for unique wellness experiences, he says, and notes that the hotel’s setting, away from bustling Waikiki but still in Honolulu, is perfect for this sort of health and wellness program.
“Visitors don't have to travel far outside of Honolulu or to another Hawaiian island to do yoga on a board in the ocean or meditate on the beach without being disturbed,” Vo said. “At The Kahala, you can have your privacy along with peace and quiet.”
