All-inclusive, family-friendly Beaches Resorts has renewed its Advanced Certified Autism Center (ACAC) designation from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). This makes Beaches the only hospitality company globally to hold the rigorous ACAC certification, demonstrating its commitment to accommodating Autistic and sensory-sensitive visitors.

The ACAC certification process involves comprehensive staff training on Autism awareness, providing appropriate activities and accommodations, undergoing an annual on-site audit and ensuring suitable protocols and physical spaces are in place.

For families with neurodivergent travelers, what may seem like a simple travel decision can shape the entire course of their family vacation, and we know how coveted of a time that is.

“As a family-owned brand, Beaches is wholeheartedly committed to creating a vacation setting where all guests can thrive,” said Heather Effs, corporate manager of entertainment operations for Sandals Resorts International (parent company of Beaches). “For families with neurodivergent travelers, what may seem like a simple travel decision can shape the entire course of their family vacation, and we know how coveted of a time that is.”

Beaches Resorts offers personalized vacation planning and on-resort programming across all resorts for families with neurodivergent travelers. This includes pre-arrival questionnaires, sensory guides rating resort areas, one-on-one Beaches Buddies to provide assistance navigating activities and custom dietary menus.

Additionally, Beaches partners with Sesame Workshop for activities such as "Amazing Art with Julia," featuring a Sesame Street character with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Beaches will also host its Annual Beaches Autism All-Inclusive Week at Beaches Negril from Sept. 22-29, with expert talks and dedicated programming.

Finally, Beaches is helping travel advisors become a “Certified Autism Travel Professional,” requiring a four-hour online training course and competency exam. Beaches Resorts travel advisors can get 50% off their certification with a discount code that can be found in the Beaches Resorts Travel Advisor Portal; to sign up at this link, agents just need to click “start application” and enter their Beaches discount code.
