Hilton Partners With Be My Eyes to Enhance Accessibility for Visually Impaired Guests

Hilton and Be My Eyes have announced a partnership aimed at improving hotel stays for guests who are blind or have low vision. The collaboration introduces AI-powered virtual assistance and dedicated support from Hilton's Reservations and Customer Care team for Be My Eyes users across the U.S. and Canada.

Be My Eyes, a free mobile app, connects visually impaired users with sighted volunteers and company representatives through live video and AI. The partnership allows Be My Eyes users to access Hilton's specially trained, English-speaking agents directly through the app's "Service Directory" under the "Hotels" category.

These dedicated Hilton teams will assist guests in navigating various aspects of their hotel stay, including adjusting in-room thermostats; operating coffee machines; identifying window coverings; and locating hotel amenities such as meeting spaces, bars, restaurants, gyms and spas.

The service is available across several Hilton brands, including Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, DoubleTree by Hilton and Hampton by Hilton.

The partnership builds on an existing collaboration that began in 2023 when Hilton helped train Be My Eyes' AI model to better recognize objects in hotel rooms. In addition to the new support services, guests can utilize Hilton's digital self-service tools for a seamless experience from check-in to check-out, where available, offering the ability to choose a room, digitally check in and out, open guestroom doors with mobile phones and more.
