In celebration of one of Mexico’s most well known exports, the
Presidente InterContinental Guadalajara Hotel has introduced three
special packages combining deluxe room accommodations with Tequila
Adventure Tours. As a highlight is the unique “Tequila Train”
experience aboard the Tequila Express and a visit to Mundo Cuervo,
the oldest tequila distillery in the world.
The property provides two options for the Tequila Adventure Weekend
package, which is available Friday though Sunday, and a midweek
Tequila Adventure Package, which is offered Monday through Friday.
All packages are valid through January 15, 2007 and are inclusive
of taxes. Packages must be booked one week in advance.
According to Carlos Reyes, Director of Sales and Marketing, the
Tequila Adventure Tour package offers visitors the opportunity to
discover the tradition and storied history behind tequila. “Guests
booking this package will see firsthand how tequila is produced -
from the moment the agave is planted until the bottle is ready to
go to the market,” explained Reyes.
A first weekend package option includes deluxe accommodations
(double occupancy) for two nights with daily continental breakfast,
two tickets for the Tequila Express, a bottle of premium tequila
and airport transfers. Based on a Friday arrival, packages are from
$220 nightly with a two-night minimum stay required.
The Tequila Train attraction is available on Saturdays only.
Lunch is provided following the tour, and guests will enjoy
additional entertainment provided by a Mexican folkloric ballet.
Back on the Tequila Express, the party continues with cocktails and
Mariachi, and ends with transfers back to the Presidente
InterContinental Hotel Guadalajara.
A second weekend package option covers two-night deluxe
accommodations (double occupancy), daily continental breakfast, two
tickets to the Mundo Cuervo Tequila Distillery (includes lunch),
bottle of premium tequila, airport transfers, and ground
transportation to and from Mundo Cuervo. Packages are from $172
nightly with a two-night minimum stay required, and are based on a
Friday arrival.
The tour of Mundo Cuervo is offered on Saturdays only. Guests
visit an agave plantation and tour “Distillery La Rojena,” the
oldest tequila distillery in the world. The party continues with
lunch and tequila tasting at Fonda Cholula Restaurant.
A similar weekday Tequila Adventure Package is from $210 nightly,
with a two-night minimum stay required.
“The Presidente InterContinental Tequila Adventure Packages are
targeted towards those travelers who have a sense of adventure and
thirst no pun intended to try new things, and learn all about the
customs and lifestyles of other cultures,” said Reyes.
The 409-room Presidente InterContinental Guadalajara features a
