Thompson Hotels Adds Second Property in Mexico

Thompson Hotels announced the debut of its second property in Mexico, Thompson Playa del Carmen, opening this fall in Riviera Maya. The 92-room luxury hotel, situated near La Quinta Avenida, will feature the first Mexican outpost of New York City-based restaurant Catch and a 30,000-square-foot rooftop with panoramic views of the Caribbean. In addition, Thompson Hotels has also announced a sister location, Beach House, debuting in early 2016. The more intimate beachfront property will feature 27 suites and will be located only a few blocks from the main hotel.

“Thompson Playa del Carmen will be the only hotel in Playa with both a central La Quinta Avenida downtown location and a beachfront retreat,” said Julian Smaldoni, general manager of Thompson Playa del Carmen.
