Air China Limited recently celebrated the grand opening of its new Los Angeles office building, which will also serve as the airline’s North American headquarters for members of its sales, marketing and call center reservations staff. The 13,000-square-foot building is located in El Segundo, Calif., within close proximity to the Los Angeles International Airport.

“This is a strong demonstration of our commitment to the Los Angeles community, and we are proud of this multimillion-dollar investment in the U.S. market, especially during these difficult economic times,” said Lan Zhang, executive vice president of Air China. “Our new space is essential for the creation of job opportunities that we will provide, since it allows us to easily add employees as we grow,” she said.

The new building was welcomed in an official ribbon-cutting ceremony that was attended by Zhang as well as El Segundo mayor Kelly McDowell, L.A. County supervisor Michael D. Antonovich and the Chinese consul general for Los Angeles, Yun Zhang.

Air China currently operates daily nonstop service between Los Angeles and Beijing. Lan Zhang said she hoped the airline will be able to add a second flight from Los Angeles in the near future.
