Disney Opens the Aulani

Sep 05, 2011

Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii, welcomed its first guests Monday morning with a special sunrise ceremony. Aulani combines Disney traditions with the lure of the islands to create a new family-friendly vacation experience along the coast of Western Oahu.

“We are thrilled to open our doors and invite guests from around the world to experience Aulani,” said Tom Staggs, chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. “This resort is a unique and exciting project that combines the magic and storytelling of Disney with the rich culture and beautiful scenery of Hawaii. It is the ultimate family paradise with a touch of Disney magic.”

Aulani is situated on 21 acres of oceanfront property within the Ko Olina resort and is 17 miles from the Honolulu International Airport. When all phases are complete, Aulani will include 359 traditional hotel rooms and 481 two-bedroom Disney Vacation Club villas. www.disneytravelagents.com
