Get Trained, Get Profitable

With the high satisfaction level of repeat cruisers, the number of people who have never cruised but have expressed an interest in cruising, the ever-expanding options available in today’s cruise market and the high value rating cruising consistently receives, cruise-selling agents are in a good position. Well-trained agents are in an even better position.

Designed to help you sell more and profit more, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) training has been proven to have a significant impact on an agent’s success rate. In fact, independent research has shown that CLIA Certified Cruise Counsellors sell 235 percent more cruises than those who have never taken training, and more sales means more profit.

Successful agents know which ships and itineraries are best for which clients. They are up to date on what is new in the industry as well as the latest industry-related news. Perhaps just as important, they have the skills to turn that knowledge into sales, which ultimately means profits. But, just as in other fields, knowledge and skills don’t come automatically. For cruise-selling travel agents, that is one area in which CLIA can play a major role. CLIA’s training programs are considered the most highly respected sales training in the travel industry. As one CLIA-affiliated agent observed, “The more education you have correlates to dollars.”

With the aid of trained professionals, industry experts and agents, CLIA is consistently working to present training programs that best fit your needs. Subjects include cruise-related geography, sales skills, marketing tools and even motivational guidance. Training is available in a variety of convenient formats, including classroom seminars held at various locations across the country and the CLIA Institute, as well as home study alternatives such as online training and training videos. These options allow you to participate when it best fits into your timeframe and is most appropriate for your learning style.
