AmaWaterways is introducing two ships in 2013: the AmaPima and the AmaVida.
The 164-passenger AmaPrima will debut in April on various cruises from seven to 14 days long. Her design incorporates Ama’s twin-balcony concept, along with spacious staterooms, a heated pool, multiple fine-dining venues and a complimentary Internet and Infotainment system with 42-inch, flat-screen television.
In addition, as part of the Ama Voyages offerings outside the mainstream European cruises, the 108-passenger AmaVida will sail two itineraries in Europe’s Douro River Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring vineyards and charming native farms. The AmaVida has balconies in the majority of staterooms and suites, which range up to 323 square feet, a sun deck pool, a fitness center, a spa and complimentary in-stateroom Internet access on a 42-inch flat-screen and shipwide Wi-Fi. The 12-day Enticing Douro from Lisbon to Porto launches March 23; the 15-day Port Wine & Flamenco trip between Madrid and Lisbon starts April 20.
In 2014, the company will debut the AmaSonata and AmaReina, both 164-passenger vessels with the twin balcony design. Onboard features include a heated sun deck swimming pool with a swim-up bar; a fitness center and a spa; complimentary shipwide Wi-Fi and in-room Internet and Infotainment; and a fleet of bicycles for passengers to enjoy on their own or on guided bike tours. The majority of staterooms on both ships are 210-235 square feet, with four suites measuring 350 square feet.
The AmaReina will debut March 16, 2014, cruising the Magnificent Europe itinerary from Amsterdam to Budapest on the Danube before moving to the Rhine for winter season voyages. The AmaSonata will debut April 23, starting with a Tulip Time cruise on the Dutch and Belgium Waterways. Later in the season she will sail the Magnificent Europe route as well as the Romantic Danube cruise from Vilshofen, Germany, to Budapest.
